Easily install aftermarket 3-3/8” and 2-1/16” gauges into your 1978-88 Malibu, El Camino or Monte Carlo. Your choice of gauges install in the shadow box, the shadow box is then installed into your factory gauge faceplate, then the assembled gauge faceplate is installed into the gauge housing allowing for the added depth needed for aftermarket gauges. Shadow boxes are available in two configurations, the five-gauge shadow box has one 3-3/8” and four 2-1/16” openings or the six gauge shadow box has two 3-3/8” and two 2-1/16” openings, then the last two 2-1/16” openings must be drilled in your factory gauge faceplate to the left and right of the steering column allowing for a total of six gauges.
