Single-Channel Digital Ignition Tester by MSD®
Simulated trigger signals and an LCD display allow ignition checks without running the engine.
This MSD® handheld tester sends a simulated trigger signal to a compatible single-channel CD ignition and coil, allowing checks with the system installed in the vehicle. The LCD displays simulated engine speed so you can evaluate rev limits, rpm switches, shift lights and tachometer operation. An included load-producing clip-on test spark plug connects to the coil wire for a visible spark-gap test. The tester accepts the ignition control's points/amplifier or magnetic-pickup trigger input and includes a circuit for checking supported cam-sync signals. It simulates four-, six- or eight-cylinder operation up to 16,000 rpm.
