Steel Hood — Original-Style Fitment with 2-Inch Raised Cowl

This RESTOPARTS® stamped-steel Hood is designed specifically for 1978–87 El Camino and 1978–83 Malibu models, combining original-style fitment with a custom 2-inch raised cowl profile. Precision-stamped from automotive-grade steel, it maintains the correct perimeter dimensions and mounting locations to fit the vehicle like the original GM hood. The underside features a stamped-steel inner structure patterned after the original GM hood, along with the correct mounting provisions for original or reproduction hood hinges and the latch assembly. Mounting points correspond with the original GM hood for straightforward installation and correct alignment with the fenders, cowl, grille and surrounding front-end sheet metal. The 2-inch raised cowl provides additional underhood clearance for taller engine and induction combinations while maintaining a clean performance appearance. Each hood is EDP (Electro-deposit primed) coated to provide corrosion resistance during storage, preparation and installation.
