This RESTOPARTS® stamped-steel Hood is designed specifically for 1968-69 Chevelle and El Camino models, combining factory-style fit and construction with a custom 2-inch raised cowl profile. Precision-stamped from automotive-grade steel, the hood maintains the original GM perimeter profile for proper alignment with the surrounding front-end sheet metal. The underside features the reinforcement/stamped-steel inner structure, providing strength and rigidity along with the correct mounting provisions for the hood hinges and latch assembly.Mounting points are located for straightforward installation and correct alignment with the fenders, cowl, grille and surrounding front-end sheet metal. The raised 2-inch cowl provides additional underhood clearance for performance applications while adding a clean, custom appearance. Each hood is EDP (Electro-deposit primed) coated to provide corrosion resistance during storage, preparation and installation.
