This RESTOPARTS® stamped-steel Hood is an exact reproduction of the original GM factory Super Sport hood used on 1968–69 Chevelle and El Camino models. Precision-stamped from automotive-grade steel, it reproduces the original factory profile with the GM factory correct raised center hood contours and provisions for the factory-style Super Sport chrome hood inserts. The underside features the factory GM-style skeletal reinforcement/stamped-steel inner structure, providing the strength and rigidity of the original hood along with the correct mounting provisions for the factory-style hood hinges and latch assembly. Original factory mounting points are reproduced in their proper locations for straightforward installation and correct alignment with the fenders, cowl, grille and surrounding front-end sheet metal. Each hood is EDP (Electro-deposit primed) coated to provide corrosion resistance during storage, preparation and installation. Included are the reproduced diecast and chromed hood grilles to complete the factory-style SS appearance and provide the correct finishing details for the Super Sport hood openings.
