This combination steel Super Sport hood, insert housings & the actual diecast chrome inserts are exact reproductions of the original GM factory Super Sport versions as used on 1966 Chevelle and El Camino models. The hood is precision stamped from automotive-grade steel like the original factory Super Sport profile with the correct twin hood scoop openings & housings as shown, for an authentic appearance and proper alignment with the surrounding front-end sheet metal. The underside features the properly reproduced factory GM-style skeletal reinforcement/stamped-steel inner structure, providing the strength and rigidity of the original hood along with the correct mounting provisions for factory GM or reproduction hood hinges and the latch assembly. Original factory mounting points are reproduced in their proper locations for straightforward installation and correct alignment with the fenders, cowl, grille and surrounding front-end sheet metal. Each hood is EDP (Electro-deposit primed) coated to provide corrosion resistance during storage, preparation and installation.
