This Glasstek fiberglass hood provides a lightweight replacement for the original hood on 1978-87 El Camino/1978-83 Malibu models. Molded fiberglass construction reproduces the required exterior contours, while the reinforced underside provides support and rigidity without the weight of a conventional steel hood. The 5-inch cowl-induction profile provides additional clearance for taller intake manifolds, carburetors, and air-cleaner combinations while adding a performance-oriented appearance. The reinforced underside and mounting provisions are designed for installation with appropriate factory-style hardware; lighter fiberglass hood springs may be required. Test-fit the hood and complete normal fiberglass filling, sanding, priming, and paint preparation before final installation.
