ADDED TO YOUR WISHLIST!
If you’re looking for a perfect replacement hood for your Buick Skylark, look no further. Original Parts Group now stocks these premium-quality fiberglass hoods for your Buick Skylark. These are exact replicas of the factory originals, right down to the most intricate molded details on the scoops. Unlike other fiberglass replacement hoods, ours are contoured and professionally finished to give your car a showroom-fresh look, without the added weight of a traditional steel hood. These are bolt-on-style hoods, complete with a fully finished underside and they’re a snap to install. You can use your existing hood hinges and latches, however, you must use special springs due to the hood’s lighter weight.
Regarding Minor Imperfections In Fiberglass Panels: Due to the fragile nature of fiberglass products, we inspect each piece for major damage prior to shipping. It is common for fiberglass components to have small chips and minor imperfections in the gel coat finish. These imperfections are not considered damage as they will be eliminated during the paint preparation process. Fiberglass parts are not shipped in a finished “ready to install” state and will require minimal filling and sanding prior to primer and paint. Test Fit All Panels Prior To Paint and Installation: OPGI recommends test-fitting all sheet metal panels prior to final paint and installation. It is also recommended that the damaged area of the vehicle not be cut out before receiving the new sheet metal. Measure twice, cut once to be safe. Sheet metal panels are not a finished product like door handles and mirrors. Minor modifications including elongating mounting holes, adding shims etc. are normal and may be necessary when installing sheet metal. This is a consideration when reinstalling original GM panels as well as reproductions. It is important to note that hard driving conditions can twist frames and bodies out of original tolerances. Poor bodywork from previous collisions can cause problems with the body structures that the panels are attached to.
