In 1969 GM produced two varieties of marker lens and corresponding bezels. The first were engine designation style bezels with an amber lens. Big-block Super Sports, however, had an SS 396 emblem appearing at the fender between the door and the wheel well—hence the SS design was a simple chrome bezel surrounding the front marker lens.
