The HURRICANE® Unit is engineered with a straight through design that does not restrict air flow with bends and turns within the evaporator case. Testing shows that airflow is dramatically improved by pulling the air across the coils. This reduces blower noise and keeps the motor cool, extending service lifetime. Most competitors place the blower fan behind and to the side of the evaporator coil thus pushing the air across the coil surface. This forces the air flow to make radical turns in order to move through the coil fins resulting in excessive back pressure and overall reduction of air volume. Only the HURRICANE® unit features a snap together injection molded case that can be easily disassembled to service system. Competitors units are glued together and cannot be disassembled. The complete package is an easy to install unit that mounts to the firewall using the original heater mounting holes. Adapters connect duct hose to original dash louvers. Heater & A/C hoses will pass through kick panel and blower motor hole block-off plates into the engine compartment. The condenser assembly includes mounting brackets, receiver drier and pre-formed aluminum lines to pass neatly through the core support. Compressor included has Plain finish but upgrade for Polished or Chrome finish is available. A/C hose kit supplied will be pre-crimped or universal depending on engine application for vehicle. Universal hose kit will require fitting and crimping hoses to complete the installation.
