1984-87 Buick Grand National VFD System with Boost by Dakota Digital®
Six-gauge VFD system adds 30 inHg-80 psi vacuum/boost display and includes primary vehicle senders.
Dakota Digital's VFD3-82B-REG-T is the boost-equipped Series III digital instrument system for 1984-87 Buick Grand National applications. Dakota Digital's Series III VFD system provides six high-brightness vacuum-fluorescent digital readings: 0-255 MPH speedometer, 0-17,500 RPM tachometer, 0-99 psi oil pressure, 0-300°F water temperature, 0-99% fuel level and 8-17 VDC voltage. Its message-center functions include a one-time-settable million-mile odometer, dual trip meters, 0-60 mph and quarter-mile timers, trap-speed data, high-speed recall and high-RPM recall. Built-in indicator support includes turn signals, high beam, check engine, parking brake, cruise and optional gear position when used with the GSS-3000. The included sender package supplies 1/8-inch NPT water-temperature and solid-state oil-pressure sensors, a GM-style cable-driven speed pulse generator with 10-foot harnesses, plus common NPT/metric adapter bushings. Pushbutton programming handles speedometer, cylinder-count and fuel-level calibration. Blue or Teal VFD display configurations are available. This version adds a vacuum/boost reading with a 30 inHg to 80 psi range. The full six-gauge system fits the existing OEM bezel and uses OEM mounting hardware; the bezel is not included. Dakota Digital also provides dedicated documentation for boost-sensor installation and Grand National tach-signal requirements. The current black-plastic control box supports BIM expansion modules for additional vehicle data.
