This 1967-68 Pontiac GTO Dual-Gate Console Shift Indicator Backing Plate is the physical plate used beneath the Dual-Gate indicator lens. The backing plate supports the lens in the original console assembly and is specific to the Dual-Gate configuration; the standard 3-speed automatic backing plate is not interchangeable for the 1968 Dual-Gate application.
