This complete carpet restoration kit for 1964–65 Pontiac GTO models combines ACC Essex carpet, application-specific under-carpet sound deadener and RESTOPARTS® sill plates with the required mounting screws. The result is a complete package designed to replace the primary carpet, insulation and sill-area components together. At the heart of the kit is ACC Essex carpet, a 100% nylon automotive carpet developed as an upgrade over standard Cut-Pile. Essex features a dense 3/8" pile with approximately 22.5 ounces of yarn per square yard and over 40% more nylon fiber than standard Cut-Pile, producing a deeper, fuller appearance and softer feel. The two-piece carpet is heat-pressed and molded to follow the original GM floor pan contours for proper fit. An authentically reproduced, machine-bonded heel pad is positioned as original, while vehicle-specific bonded jute backing provides additional cushioning and insulation beneath the carpet. Application-specific sound deadener installs beneath the carpet to help reduce road noise and heat transfer. Completing the installation are RESTOPARTS® ribbed sill plates with GM-licensed Body by Fisher emblems riveted in place as original, along with the correct 8-piece sill plate mounting screw set. For restorers who prefer a more luxurious carpet material than the original-style Raylon™ Loop, this kit provides the added depth and softness of Essex while retaining the molded fit, authentic heel pad and factory-style finishing details required for a properly restored GTO interior.
