Original Style Molded Carpet In 2005, “Raylon” was developed as a replacement for the traditional 80/20 loop carpets used in all GM cars of the 1960s and early 1970s. Each set is heat-pressed and precisely molded into an original, high-quality floor pan die—to insure a perfect fit, then with precisely reproduced plastic heel-pad for a superior fit and finish. With the original style 1/2" thick jute bonded to the underside for your convenience. Premium Essex Carpet "Essex-style" sets use the same 22-ounce cut pile carpet as Mercedes and other high-end cars. They include original style machine-bonded plastic heel pads in the factory location with the correct molded plastic dimmer switch grommet and are shipped complete with a 1/2"-thick jute backing bonded to the carpet. Heat-pressed and molded to an original GM floor pan die.
