Gear-reduction starter with a ball-bearing armature and 11-tooth pinion.
This 3.0-horsepower Tuff Stuff® starter is intended for LS1 and LS6 engines with a 168-tooth flywheel. The gear-reduction assembly uses an 11-tooth pinion, a heavy-duty armature supported by ball bearings, a one-piece steel motor housing and copper-band field coils. The solenoid has heavy-duty contacts. Zinc and chrome finishes are offered; this is a new USA-made starter, not a remanufactured unit.
