Reflective outer surfaces and silica-fabric inner layers protect against two forms of heat transfer.
These Thermo-Tec® shields protect the spark-plug-wire and boot area with two complementary layers. The outer surface reflects over 90 percent of radiant heat, while the silica-based fabric inside provides a barrier to conductive heat. The sleeves help shield ignition connections near hot exhaust parts without assigning the same temperature limit to the underlying wire. The package contains 2 shields.
