Ignition Box, "Second Strike", Pertronix

Your factory inductive-type ignition is known for its long burn time, but not necessarily its high-energy. Capacitive discharge (CD) ignitions are known for their high-energy, but not long burn time. Pertronix has combined the two with its “Second Strike” ignition supplement that uses your stock ignition as the primary spark producer and follows it with a second spark—anywhere from 2-18 crank degrees later—from its Second Strike CD box. This assures you of complete burning of the air/fuel mixture in the combustion chamber. It means you can get more power, better combustion efficiency and reduced plug fouling. The Second Strike also has a built-in rev limiter that randomly cuts out a spark from different cylinders to reduce plug fouling when you over-rev your engine. This ignition supplement works with most OEM and aftermarket non-CD ignitions and is compatible with most modern tachs without an interface.
