Cadillac V8 Pro-Billet Distributor (Vacuum Advance) by MSD®

A magnetic pickup and bearing-supported steel shaft provide the trigger for an external ignition control.

This MSD® Pro-Billet distributor uses a CNC-machined 6061-T6 aluminum housing and a QPQ-treated steel shaft supported by a sealed ball bearing and long sintered bushing. A maintenance-free magnetic pickup provides the trigger signal to a required external MSD 6-, 7- or 8-series ignition control. The mechanical advance can be adjusted with springs and stop bushings to match the engine. Vacuum advance adds timing under light load. A matching cap and rotor are included. An external ignition coil is also required; the distributor is not a self-contained coil-in-cap HEI unit.
