Buick 400-455 V8 Max-Fire Distributor by Edelbrock®

A bearing-supported shaft, magnetic pickup and adjustable advance provide ready-to-run ignition control.

This Edelbrock® Max-Fire distributor has a CNC-machined 6061-T6 aluminum housing and a centerless-ground shaft supported by a sealed upper roller bearing and an extended lower oil-impregnated bronze bushing. A magnetic pickup and large paddle-wheel reluctor provide the trigger signal. Its internal electronics use a three-wire connection and do not require an external ignition-control box; a compatible external ignition coil is required. Adjustable mechanical and vacuum advance allow the timing curve to be tailored to the engine. The cap and rotor use 30% glass-filled polyester to resist carbon tracking, with brass contacts and a stainless-steel rotor spring. A hardened iron gear, cap, rotor, retainer and mechanical advance-curve kit are included.
