American Autowire Classic Update kits use the later style 1969+ General Motors steering column connector. This requires the original connector on the steering column side (attached to the turn signal switch wiring) to be cut off and replaced with the supplied mating part to match the new AAW dash. These turn signal switch adapters will mate an original GM turn signal switch to an American Autowire Classic Update dash, eliminating the need to cut off the connector or crimp new terminals.
