Original-style temperature sender provides the signal required by a factory temperature gauge.
This engine-temperature sending unit is designed for applications equipped with a factory temperature gauge. The sender installs in the engine cooling passage and varies its electrical signal with coolant temperature so the factory gauge can display engine temperature. Use only with the gauge-equipped application specified for the vehicle.
