1971-72 Chevelle/El Camino/Monte Carlo Voltmeter Conversion (White Markings)
Replaces the factory ammeter in the round-gauge dash; wiring bypasses the printed circuit.
This voltmeter replaces the ammeter in the original or reproduction round-gauge dash of your 1971-72 Chevelle, El Camino or Monte Carlo. Its white markings match the year-correct instrument graphics while changing the reading from current flow to system voltage. The gauge mounts in the existing ammeter pod, with wiring separate from the flexible printed circuit. Installation requires a 1/4-inch hole in the pod for the wires and grommet, plus a fused switched-ignition power connection and ground. Mounting washers, acorn nuts and the wire grommet are supplied. Follow the instructions when isolating the original ammeter feed wires; this is a wiring conversion, not a plug-in reuse of the ammeter connections.
