BIM-01-2 OBD-II/CAN Interface Module by Dakota Digital®
Pulls supported ECM data through the diagnostic port for compatible Dakota Digital instruments.
Dakota Digital’s BIM-01-2 connects to an OBD-II diagnostic port and decodes supported SAE J1850 or CAN data for compatible GRFX, RTX, HDX, VHX and VFD3 instrument systems with a black-plastic control module. On most supported vehicles it can provide speed, tachometer, engine temperature and check-engine status. Depending on the ECM and available OEM sensors, additional channels may include intake-air temperature, transmission temperature, ambient temperature, gear position, oil pressure and boost. Compatibility is limited to SAE J1850 VPW/PWM and ISO 15765 CAN 500k 11-bit systems following SAE J1979 PID protocol; earlier aluminum-control-box instruments are not BIM compatible. Dakota Digital cautions that the availability and accuracy of optional channels depend on the vehicle ECM and sensor configuration, and GM Connect & Cruise packages do not transmit gear-position data to this module.
