1971-72 Chevrolet 6L80E Shifter Conversion by Shiftworks®
Retains the horseshoe shifter with a detent matched to the 6L80E selector positions.
This Shiftworks® kit adapts the original 1971-72 Chevrolet Chevelle, El Camino or Monte Carlo horseshoe shifter to a 6L80E transmission. The mechanical selector operates Park, Reverse, Neutral, Drive and Manual; it does not provide six separate forward-gear detents. Manual gear changes require compatible electronic shift inputs and transmission controls. The base kit supplies a detent, transmission shift lever, pan bracket and installation hardware. It does not include a console gear indicator, shift cable or neutral safety switch.
