his RESTOPARTS® rear disc brake conversion kit provides a comprehensive solution for 1964–72 GM A-Body models that have been converted to or equipped with a Ford 9-inch rear differential.
Designed for Ford 9-inch rear ends using new- or old-style large axle bearings with a 3.15-inch outside diameter and 2-3/8-inch axle offset, the kit accommodates axle flanges up to 6-1/4 inches in diameter. These dimensions are important when confirming compatibility with an existing or aftermarket Ford 9-inch rear-end assembly.
The system uses large 11½-inch vented rear rotors together with loaded GM metric-style floating calipers. The calipers feature 10mm x 1.5 banjo-style hose inlets and come fitted with organic friction material. Combination caliper brackets/axle retainers, adjustment shims and the required mounting hardware complete the conversion package.
The calipers incorporate a mechanical parking-brake provision, allowing the rear parking brake to be retained when used with the appropriate aftermarket adjustable parking-brake cables.

Installation Notes
Rear-End Compatibility: This kit is designed for Ford 9" rear ends using 3.15" O.D. new- or old-style large axle bearings, a 2-3/8" axle offset, and axle flanges up to 6-1/4" in diameter. Verify these dimensions before ordering, as Ford 9" rear-end configurations can vary.
Parking Brake: The rear calipers incorporate a mechanical parking-brake provision. Aftermarket adjustable parking-brake cables are recommended to properly connect the caliper parking-brake mechanism to the vehicle's existing system.
Brake Hoses: The floating calipers use 10mm x 1.5 banjo-style hose connections. Flexible brake hoses are recommended at the calipers to accommodate normal caliper movement.
Wheel Clearance: Designed to fit most 15" and larger wheels; however, wheel design, backspacing and internal dimensions vary. Verify caliper-to-wheel clearance before final installation.
Installation/Clearancing: Because this kit is being installed with a Ford 9" rear end in a GM A-Body—and rear-end housings, axle assemblies and related components may vary—minor clearancing or fitting may be required in some installations.
