Differential, Auburn, 8.5 10 Bolt, 2.73-Up, Hi-Performance

Auburn's torque-sensing, limited slip differentials (LSD) use an innovative cone-shaped clutch, which engages the differential case coupled to a beveled side gear providing maximum traction. When the LSD senses one wheel spinning faster than the other, the cone clutch engages tighter and, through the use of springs and their preload, equalizes the torque bias to each wheel. The Auburn LSD's are available in two versions: One is the “Pro Series” for ultra high-performance applications. The “High-Performance Series” has a standard spring preload for stock-type street use. The Pro Series uses a much higher spring preload for instantaneous torque-sensing traction.
