This injection-molded fan shroud is a high-quality reproduction of the original GM shroud used on 1969–70 Chevelle and El Camino small-block applications equipped with the larger radiator / heavy-duty cooling configuration. Unlike heavier or less accurately formed replacement shrouds, this version is case-hardened and steel tooled injection molded to match the original GM shroud in material thickness, dimensions, appearance and fit. The molded fan opening, reinforcing ribs and overall configuration reproduce the factory-style shroud while providing the proper relationship between the radiator and engine-driven cooling fan. A properly fitted fan shroud is an important part of the original cooling system. By surrounding the fan and positioning it correctly behind the radiator, the shroud helps pull air through the radiator core rather than allowing airflow to be drawn from around it—particularly important during low-speed and stop-and-go operation.
