The clutches disengage the fan, removing the load against the engine to allow the engine to run more efficiently.

OPGI is offering these brand-new fan clutches from Derale that are manufactured to the exact factory specifications for each application. They are CNC-machined from aluminum to help dissipate heat and include a durable bearing with a high-temperature silicone grease to allow the clutch to engage at the proper rpm and temperature for maximum cooling. They're available for all V8’s in both thermal and non-thermal versions.
