This Vintage Air® GEN 5® SureFit® complete A/C kit provides heating, cooling and defrost for 1970–72 Chevrolet Chevelle and El Camino. Select the version matching the vehicle’s original factory A/C or Non-A/C configuration. Microprocessor control operates the HVAC functions without vacuum actuators. Separate aluminum heating and cooling coils and a sealed blend door allow quick temperature changes. Variable blower speed and dash, floor and defrost blending let you adjust airflow. The quiet blower and rubber-isolated mounts help reduce operating noise and vibration. The injection-molded case has service covers for coil access, an OEM-style block expansion valve and molded air doors with integral rubber seals. Built-in diagnostics and protective controls support troubleshooting. A new electronic control panel bolts into the original control location. Included cabin components comprise the evaporator, powder-coated steel brackets, duct hose, wiring, application-specific louvers where required, flat steel firewall cover, hardware and instructions. The complete package adds a compressor and bracket, condenser and brackets, drier, refrigerant lines and fittings. Optional compressor finishes and the trinary-switch upgrade are separate selections.
