Vintage Air's Gen 5 SureFit® system brings electronically controlled air conditioning, heating and defrost to the 1964-65 Chevrolet Chevelle and El Camino without factory A/C. The microprocessor-controlled system eliminates vacuum-operated controls and mechanical cables, using the original dash controls through Vintage Air's patented Electronic Cable Converters. Separate high-capacity cooling and heater coils, variable blower speed and adjustable air blending provide precise temperature regulation with dash, floor and defrost air distribution.
This complete system includes the behind-the-dash evaporator assembly, compressor and mounting bracket, condenser and brackets, refrigerant lines, receiver-drier, fittings, wiring and installation hardware. Additional Gen 5 features include an injection-molded evaporator case, sealed blend-air doors, removable coil-access covers and a quiet, high-performance blower. Vehicle-specific mounting components and a steel firewall cover help integrate the system into the original interior and engine compartment.
