It locates the throttle and detent-cable connections at the intake/throttle-body assembly using the original mounting profile and hole placement. Correct bracket geometry is important to the detent-cable movement as the throttle opens; compare the existing bracket and cable arrangement before installing. The reproduction retains the familiar factory-style shape rather than a generic slotted universal bracket.
