An open space beneath the runners helps keep the intake charge cooler from idle to 5,500 RPM.

This cast-aluminum Edelbrock® Performer Air-Gap intake is designed for 262-400 cubic-inch Chevrolet Small Block engines with the 1955-86 cylinder-head pattern, operating from idle to 5,500 RPM. An open air space separates the intake runners from hot engine oil below, reducing heat transfer into the incoming mixture. The cooler, denser charge supports street-engine power throughout the intended operating range. Satin, black and polished finishes are offered.
