The tunnel-ram layout favors upper-RPM power for pro-street and marine engine combinations.

The Edelbrock® Street Tunnel Ram 2-O is intended for 396-502 cubic-inch Chevrolet Big Block engines with the large oval-port cylinder-head pattern used through 1975. It suits pro-street and marine combinations where upper-RPM power takes priority over low-speed torque. The manufacturer recommends its Performer RPM 7162 cam kit for a top-end-oriented combination. The manifold uses forward-mounted carburetors and the matching forward throttle linkage; a vacuum connection in the top supports power brakes. HEI distributor clearance is not provided, so check the ignition arrangement as well as the substantial intake height before installation.
