This original-style fuel tank sending unit lock ring is designed to secure the fuel sending unit or pump module to the fuel tank. The retaining ring engages the factory locking points around the tank opening, holding the assembly in position while maintaining compression against the sealing gasket. Its original-style configuration allows the factory fuel tank mounting arrangement to be retained during fuel system service.
A corroded, bent or damaged lock ring can prevent the sending unit or fuel pump module from seating securely, potentially compromising the fuel tank seal. Replacing the retaining ring during fuel system repairs helps maintain proper attachment and sealing. Designed for select 1997–2005 Cadillac DeVille, 1997–2002 Eldorado, 1997–2004 Seville and 2004–09 XLR applications.
