This comprehensive RESTOPARTS® fuel tank kit brings together the properly matched components needed to replace the original fuel tank assembly on 1971–72 Pontiac GTO, Tempest and LeMans models equipped with a 3/8-inch fuel line without return. At the center of the kit is the correct 20-gallon, 3-vent reproduction fuel tank with integral filler neck. Professionally stamped to reproduce the original factory dimensions, contours and mounting configuration, the tank features a double-sided galvanized zinc coating for corrosion resistance on both the interior and exterior surfaces. Tank seams and attached components are copper brazed for strength and durability, with additional protection applied at the brazed areas. Rather than requiring the individual fuel-tank installation components to be sourced separately, G242666 combines the tank with the corresponding 3/8-inch fuel sending unit, mounting straps and hardware, tank-to-body seal, fuel hose and clamps, and fuel cap. Each component is application-matched to provide a coordinated replacement package while retaining the original-style fuel-system configuration. The tank also includes the fuel-sending-unit lock ring and gasket, providing the proper retention and sealing components for installation of the sending unit.
