This comprehensive RESTOPARTS® fuel tank kit is designed for 1968 and 1970 Pontiac GTO, Tempest and LeMans models equipped with a 3/8-inch fuel line and 1/4-inch return, bringing together the properly matched components needed to replace the original fuel tank assembly. At the center of the kit is the correct 20-gallon reproduction fuel tank featuring the original-style 2-vent configuration. Professionally stamped to reproduce the factory dimensions, contours and mounting configuration, the tank is offered in a choice of Galvanized Steel, Ni-Terne Steel or Premium Stainless Steel. The Galvanized Steel version features a double-sided zinc coating for corrosion resistance on both the interior and exterior surfaces, with copper-brazed seams and attached components for strength and durability. The Ni-Terne Steel version features a corrosion-resistant zinc-tin alloy coating that provides excellent protection while retaining the distinctive metallic appearance associated with Ni-Terne construction. The Premium Stainless Steel version provides exceptional corrosion resistance and a clean, premium finished appearance while retaining the same original-style tank configuration and fit. G242659 is paired with the correct 3/8-inch fuel sending unit with 1/4-inch return. The tank uses the original-style separate filler-neck configuration rather than incorporating the filler neck into the tank itself.
