Carter precision-cast mechanical pump delivers 40–45 GPH at 5¼–6½ PSI in late-1967 installations.

This short-housing Carter® mechanical fuel pump is designed for late-production 1967 Pontiac GTO 400 and Tempest 326 V8 engines with the three-line fuel-system arrangement. Its camshaft-operated rocker arm and precision-cast aluminum housing provide approximately 40–45 gallons per hour at 5.25–6.5 PSI. The pump uses an approximately 5/16-inch tubing inlet and ⅝-18 threaded outlet, and Carter lists a mounting gasket. The short-housing and three-line configuration are important; earlier 1967 applications and two-line systems may use different pumps.
