This 800 CFM JET Performance® Streetmaster Quadrajet is prepared for mildly modified street/strip engines with a spread-bore intake. Each hand-selected core is completely disassembled, cleaned and inspected. Epoxy-sealed casting plugs help prevent fuel leak-down into the intake manifold. The circuits are checked for correct sizing, with jetting and primary/secondary metering-rod calibration matched to the intended engine combination. A new float, choke pull-off and bronze-bushed throttle shafts are installed during reassembly. The idle, off-idle, main, accelerator-pump and high-speed circuits are recalibrated to improve idle quality and throttle response while supporting torque and horsepower. Recommended combinations use a dual-plane intake, headers, 8.2:1-9.5:1 compression, mildly ported or performance heads and a cam with 210-220 degrees duration at .050-inch lift and a 110-112-degree lobe-separation angle.
