1960–67 Pontiac Carter AFB Four-Barrel Carburetor Dashpot

Carburetor throttle dashpot supports controlled return of the throttle linkage toward idle.

This original-style carburetor dashpot is intended for Pontiac applications equipped with the Carter AFB four-barrel carburetor. The dashpot works with the throttle linkage to moderate throttle-plate closing as the accelerator is released, helping prevent an abrupt drop in engine speed under the intended setup. The dashpot unit is supplied without the separate mounting bracket or carburetor assembly.
