This is the rubber strap material that prevents metal-to-metal wear between the straps and gas tank due to vibrations. The seals go between the steel straps and the gas tank. They also prohibit annoying squeaks usually heard after removing and reinstalling the tank for repair or replacing it with a new one. Each kit includes both sides.
